Angry Birds now available for netbooks

first_imgTo say that Angry Birds has been a smashing success, pun fully intended, on the small screen would be an understatement. The success of the Angry Birds game led to its availability on both the iPhone and Android platforms, and even a holiday-themed edition called Angry Birds Seasons.Building upon that success, Rovio’s CEO, Peter Vesterbacka, has already discussed the company’s intention to move the game to consoles including the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii. One thing he apparently forgot to mention at the time was that the game was also coming to a netbook near you.A PC version of the Angry Birds game, compatible with both Windows 7 and Windows XP, is now available for download from the Intel AppUp marketplace. The game will set you back $4.99, but for those already addicted to the game on their mobile device it will be a small price to pay to play the game on a bigger screen. Though you don’t need to have a netbook to download the game, it’s important to note the game has been designed for the specs of a netbook in mind which includes an Intel Atom processor and 10-inch screen with a resolution of 1024×768.To play the game, you will need to install the free Intel AppUp client software. Once purchased, you will be allowed to download and install the game on up to four additional computers. That’s not a bad deal considering it means you can play the game on most of the computers within an average household.Read more at Intel AppUp and the Rovio Bloglast_img
